Before we left the conference room for our homes, Lord Bekan drew up a new charter, which included the new ranking list of the Master Vampires. We signed the charter, then went our separate ways.
Before Ankh-Re left my side, he reminded me that he was going on a retreat and would not be back for some time. How long, he would not or could not say. All I got from him was that he would be somewhere in the Himalayas. I was saddened by his retreating figure.
Lord Erik rode with me back to my house; even though he lived nearby, I informed him that he could continue to stay as long as he wished and make my home his home. I then retreated to my suite, and created an updated list of the High Council - for no one in particular, although I felt that Father O'Malley would like it. All of the known High Sires across the globe would receive notification of the changes, and in turn, they would spread the news among vampires everywhere. In any case, it was therapeutic for me to sit down and write the following in my diary:
The High Council.
The High Council is comprised of the Supreme Guardian and the Twelve Master Vampires. They are ancient and powerful beings, who are all attractive and youthful in appearance.
The Supreme Guardian.
Queen Makafisa - The ruler of all vampires. She is a direct descendant of the Goddess Lilith, and one of the first daywalkers - a mutant strain of vampire that can go out into the daylight. Makafisa is adept in all forms of magic. She can kill humans and fledgling vampires with a thought alone, but usually prefers to torture and kill her victims the old-fashioned way.
Physical attributes: Statuesque, with mahogany-colored skin, long black hair - usually in braids - and black eyes.
The Twelve Master Vampires.
(Listed in order by rank/age, with former ranking in parentheses)
1. Lord Mikal - (1) Circa 5000 BC. He was actually worshipped as a 'plague god' during the late Paleolithic period @ 4000 BC in the Near East. Mikal is the oldest known surviving nightstalker. It is believed that he is a younger half-brother of Queen Makafisa, but neither he nor Makafisa will confirm or deny it. Mikal is a wise thoughtful vampire of few words.
Physical attributes: Tall wiry build with long straight white hair, black eyes, and pale skin.
2. Lady Isis - (5) Circa 1900 BC. A former priestess of the Goddess Isis during Egypt's Middle Kingdom; a daywalker, sired by Lord Ankh-Re. Due to a tryst with the Nephilim Lord Shemhazai after 2000 AD, she is actually the most powerful vampire. Compassionate and somewhat scholarly, she prefers her solitude, and has no desire to become the ruler.
Physical attributes: Tall and curvy, with long curly dark brown hair and brown eyes. She has light golden-brown skin.
3. Lord Gad - (7) Circa 3000 BC/500 BC. Phoenician; formerly a nightstalker. During one of the earliest vampire wars, he was beheaded and left on the nighttime battlefield to disintegrate with the sunrise. Humans gathered his remains before daylight, and buried him in a cave, where he laid for 2,500 years. During a rare time of peace, he was discovered. Queen Makafisa used the magic of the Nephilim to re-attach his head and bring him to life. After 2000 AD, when Gad was beheaded for a second time, he was brought back to life by the Nephilim Lord Shemhazai, and became a daywalker.
Physical attributes: Tall and muscular, with an olive complexion. He usually has closely cropped dark brown hair; dark brown eyes.
4. Lord Ankh-Re - (4) Circa 2200 BC. Of royal lineage, formerly a high priest of the God Amun during Egypt's Old Kingdom; a daywalker, whose sire died during one of the early vampire wars. Ankh-Re has an outgoing personality. After almost being lost via a zombie infection, he was healed by the Nephilim Lord Shemhazai circa 2000 AD.
Physical attributes: Tall and muscular, with long curly black hair, which has recently been closely cropped. He has hazel eyes, and a light golden brown skin tone.
5. Lord Erik - Circa 1100 AD. Norwegian. A Viking warlord recruited by King Sigurd I of Norway to fight in the Crusades. Sired by a female daywalker while in Jerusalem. Erik was beheaded circa 2000 AD and brought back to life by the Nephilim Lord Shemhazai.
Physical attributes: Tall muscular build, with long blonde hair, blue-grey eyes, and fair skin, which is sometimes lightly tanned.
6. Lord Aray - (2) Circa 3000 BC. Aray was named after an ancient war god of Armenia, which is where he is from. The God Aray was worshipped as a dying-and-rising god. Thus, the name suits Aray well, as vampires are believed to be of the 'dying-and-rising' kind. Sometimes he is hot-tempered and cruel. He is a daywalker sired by Queen Makafisa.
Physical attributes: Tall and muscular, with pale skin, long curly black hair, and green eyes.
7. Lady Anala - (3) Circa 2500 BC. She was formerly a high priestess of the Goddess Kali in northern India. She is a nightstalker, whose sire died during one of the early vampire wars. She enjoys seducing men and feeding upon them - a true succubus.
Physical attributes: Tall and voluptuous, with golden skin, long wavy black hair, and hazel eyes.
8. Lady Sirara - (6) Circa 800 BC. A former princess of the Assyrian Empire and a relation of the famed Queen Samuramat (Semiramis); a daywalker, sired by Lord Ankh-Re.
Physical attributes: Medium height, curvy, with long black hair and black eyes. She has a light olive complexion.
9. Lord Pen Esus - (8) Circa 500 BC. A former Druidic warrior from Ireland; a nightstalker. Pen was captured in Gaul and sold as a slave in North Africa by Phoenician pirates, where he was bought and sired by Lord Gad.
Physical attributes: Tall and muscular, with long red hair, blue eyes, and fair skin.
10. Lord Kratos Apollonius - (9) Circa 400 BC. A Greek nobleman from Athens. A very accomplished scholar, sired by Lady Sirara. He is a daywalker.
Physical attributes: Tall, with a slender build. He has shoulder-length wavy black hair, green eyes, and a light olive skintone.
11. Lady Ma-zu - (10) Circa 300 BC. A Chinese noblewoman from the court of the long-lived Zhou Dynasty; a nightstalker. She was part of a delegation to Persia, where she was sired by an unknown nightstalker. Ma-zu is compassionate, and fluent in many languages of the Far East and Middle East.
Physical attributes: Of medium height, with a slender build. She has long straight black hair, dark brown eyes, and pale skin.
12. Lord Sebastian - (12) Circa 300 AD; a Roman of Gallic and Italian origin. A former captain of the Praetorian Guard, Sebastian was executed for treason on becoming a Christian. Now venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church. He is a warrior and a vampire of compassion. He is a daywalker, sired by Lady Julia* right before he took his last breath as a human.
Physical attributes: Tall and muscular with a light olive complexion, shoulder-length wavy dark brown hair, and grey eyes.
*Lady Julia Aurelius - (11) Circa 200 BC; Roman. A patrician ancestor of the first Caesar; a daywalker. She left her husband and seduced Lord Kratos into siring her. Later, she became Lord Aray's mate, gaining more power through his ancient lineage. She had a very sadistic nature. Julia was judged and executed for treason circa 2000 AD.
Physical attributes: Tall and voluptuous, with pale skin, long wavy auburn hair, and green eyes.

Thanks, Theban. You should see what I'm doing now...fallen angels (my character Huey here is also in my new stuff), a former Pilgrim/incubus, more demons, shifters, etc. Good times! lol
